Healing Arts at Centrala brings together a creative wellbeing workshop, exhibition and film screening exploring themes of identity, migration, belonging personal resilience. Led by Roo Dhissou, the creative workshop invites participants to create their own personalised pocket object using collage, drawing and craft techniques.

MIAH is hosting a special 3-day community arts project where together we will create an illuminated Ottoman-style map of Balsall Heath, inspired by traditional Islamic artistic practices, including geometric design, illumination, biomorphic patterns, decorative drawing, and Ottoman-style visual motifs.

This gentle workshop explores theme of ‘Where gratitude flows’ through reflection and art practice. Following a guided meditation, participants will then receive some beginner-friendly instructions on how to use the medium of watercolour.

A hands on workshop using juggling to explore how we learn, how we get stuck and what happens when we get out of our own way. Most people walk into a room believing they can't juggle. As residents of Link Road, we have collected our thoughts on what we do to look after our mental health and turned them into a poem. You can walk freely along our road anytime during Healing Arts Birmingham week and read the poem line-by-line in our front windows. To complement it, we have installed flowering hanging baskets made with the help of local gardening collective, Warm Earth. We invite you to share our joy in who we are as a community. Link Road is only 8 minutes walk from the no 11 bus route and fewer from the no 80.
