Mothership is a residency and exhibition programme supporting mother-artists through creative
development, peer support and family-inclusive approaches to artistic practice.
The exhibition presents new work by artists navigating motherhood alongside their creative careers,
exploring themes of care, identity, resilience, belonging and community. By creating space for artists with caring responsibilities, Mothership addresses barriers to cultural participation and promotes more
equitable opportunities within the arts.
Visitors of all ages are welcome. The gallery provides family-friendly resources including play mats for
children, yoga mats for relaxation and movement and Mini Stryx creative sessions take place on Fridays, encouraging intergenerational engagement with contemporary art.
Through creativity, connection and shared experiences, Mothership demonstrates how the arts can
support wellbeing, reduce isolation and strengthen communities.
