Join Dr Hardeep Dhindsa and Dr Bharti Parmar for a fascinating exploration of how nature shaped ideas of healing in Victorian society. Through the symbolic and medicinal meanings attached to flowers, plants, and stones, this talk will uncover the rich visual and cultural language through which Victorians understood health, emotion and restoration.

This new body of work has been created by Birmingham based photographer, Maria Reaney. To create the project she worked with six young people from across the city and wider West Midlands region to explore the impact of the cost of living crisis, government policy and living with a disability.

In showcasing initiatives from the UK and Norway, it highlights contrasting philosophies of criminal justice and criminal care whilst reflecting on the role of creative practice within the prison and probation systems.
