This roundtable brought together representatives from public health, academia, music, culture and community organisations to explore the role of heavy metal in supporting health and wellbeing.
Through presentations, lived experience and discussion, participants considered Birmingham's role as the birthplace of heavy metal, reviewed the emerging evidence linking music and mental health, and explored how a lasting Heavy Metal and Mental Health movement could be developed.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to future collaboration and action.
