A community research project led by the Institute for Research into Superdiversity (IRiS) at the University of Birmingham and the Community Interest Research Centre (CIRC-CIC) explores maternity care in diverse healthcare settings, highlighting how women in the city of Birmingham, UK, often face barriers during pregnancy and childbirth, including language challenges, unfamiliarity with the healthcare system, and social isolation. These lived experiences have been transformed into a powerful, co-created Forum Theatre performance.
